Francis Engineering was contracted by James B. Pirtle Construction Co., to Design/Build a Fire sprinkler system for the Western High School Facility in Broward County, Florida, within a fixed four month window. The project was inclusive of the main classroom buildings, and three support buildings for a grand total of approximately 250,000 sq. ft.
We prepared the design/Installation drawings, procured the material, and started installation May 5, 2008 at the start of summer break. Although a significant portion of the classroom building remained occupied for summer camp, until the end of May, we were able to protect the contents, remove/replace ceiling tiles, install and test the systems, and have the $2,250,000.00 project substantially complete by August 18, 2008, prior to commencement of the Fall Term.
